Zhu Gongshan Honored with “2017 Belt and Road Sushang Person of Great Merit”

At the 12th Sushang Leaders Annual Meeting, the awards of “Sushang Person of the Year 2017” were formally released, Zhu Gongshan, Chairman of GCL Group, won the title of “2017 Belt and Road Sushang Person of Great Merit” for his outstanding contributions to and great influence on the “Belt and Road” initiative.

Jiangsu is at the intersection between the Silk Road economic belt and the 21st century maritime Silk Road. Guided by the “Belt and Road” initiative, local enterprises go global and explore actively overseas markets, enhance economic & trade cooperation and expand investments in an all-around way. As a global leader of the clean energy industry, GCL Group focuses on power infrastructure interconnectivity, carries out technological export, takes part in infrastructure construction, makes investments in overseas markets and actively follows the “Belt and Road” initiative, so as to bring green energy to the whole world and make itself a showpiece of clean and low-carbon development.

By the end of 2017, GCL New Energy had ranked the second in total installed capacity in the world, and had built several PV power stations in North America, Japan and other countries and regions. GCL Intelligent Energy is a company that has most projects in the countries along the “Belt and Road”. The “Ethiopia – Djibouti oil and gas project”, which was jointly invested by GCL and China Poly Group Corporation, has become China’s largest energy cooperation project in East Africa and listed as a key project of the strategic projects and major planned energy projects designated in the “Belt and Road” initiative.

Hosted by Jiangsu Sushang Development Promotion Association and themed with “Systematic Thinking Enables the New Development of Sushang”, the annual meeting was held in Nanjing, attracting over 1,000 excellent entrepreneurs, who made dialogues and communications and exchanged views so as to comply with the new requirements of the new era, and seek for new approaches to active response to and embracing the “Belt and Road” initiative.
